About Patton & Hyder PLLC.

Formed in 2009, Patton & Hyder, PLLC is the successful partnership of G. Earl Patton and Susan M. Hyder. Sharing a wealth of knowledge and the same eager work ethic, Patton & Hyder offer their clients a high level of legal expertise and a seasoned team of professionals who know the legal system well enough not only navigate it, but to also make sure that their clients understand every step along the way.

G. Earl Patton has been practicing law since 2000. He has extensive experience in the areas of personal injury, social security disability, criminal defense, divorce and family law, as well as employment law and general civil litigation.  Patton has also represented the Cumberland County Board of Education for the past eight years.

Patton is a 2000 graduate of the Nashville School of Law, and a 1993 Graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.  He is the past President of the Cumberland County Bar Association and a member of the Trial Lawyers of America Advocate of Trial Advocacy.  He is an active member of the Tennessee and National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense, the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Association of Justice.  He is also an approved family law mediator under Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31.

Patton grew up in Cumberland County and his ancestors were among the first and most prominent settlers here.  He is actively involved in many community activities.   He has four children and he and his wife, Rachel, love spending time outdoors with them.

 

Susan M. Hyder is a Crossville native and has worked in the legal field for thirty years.  She is a graduate of the Nashville School of Law and was admitted to practice in 2006.  She has served on the advisory board at Roane State Community College Paralegal Program for several years.  She is a past President of the Cumberland County Bar Association and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.  Her practice focuses on estates, wills, real estate, corporate and family law.

 

Teresa Wilson is the office manager and paralegal for attorney Susan Hyder.  She earned her degree in Paralegal Studies at Roane State Community College in May 2002 and has worked in the legal field for 10 years.  Teresa is also a Tennessee Certified Real Estate Appraiser and owns an appraisal business with her husband, Fred.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends.


 
Trudi Stryker is receptionist and administrative assistant for attorney Earl Patton.  Before she started with the firm, she was in the banking industry for twelve years as a customer service representative and she gained a degree in Business Management at Roane State Community College in 2006.  She and husband, Darrin, are part owners of Chestnut Hill Winery in Crossville. She has two boys and one girl and she also has a granddaughter, Ava.  She is also a clogging mom.  Her husband and son are cloggers and have performed at the Smithville Jamboree.
